It may not be the polar vortex but a lot of high pressure is sitting over most of the country in between the Rockies and Appalachian mountains. Storms along the east coast have moved out but now there is some precipitation in the Dakotas moving East but I don't believe anything major will come of it since there isn't any kind of southerly wind to draw up warm water vapor from the gulf.

For tomorrow expect higher winds but with slightly lower pressure. There is a stationary front which I suspect will move east and bring in some lower pressure. This won't raise the temps much but there should be a little more humidity and clouds coming in.
